Blanca Burnley, a proud immigrant from Mexico and U.S. citizen, served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. During her service, she earned meritorious promotions, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, multiple Good Conduct Medals, and several Certificates of Commendation, achieving the rank of Sergeant by the end of her first tour of duty.

In her second tour, Sergeant Burnley served with the Office of Legislative Affairs in the U.S. House of Representatives as part of the Marine Corps Liaison Office on Capitol Hill.

Following her honorable discharge, Blanca transitioned to the civilian sector, where she began working with Andrew Woods as a Legal Assistant. She has been an integral part of his team of lobbyists and consultants for the past twenty-five years, contributing in a variety of roles.
​
Blanca and her husband, Thurman—a dedicated Boy Scout leader—raised two sons, Alexander and Logan, guiding them both from the rank of Tiger Scout to achieving the highest honor of Eagle Scout.
Her service and accomplishments are also recognized in the Congressional Record of the 105th Congress.
